Ink and the Island of Cushions
A black kitten crosses a living-room sea without touching the carpet.
Ink decided the carpet was an ocean the moment three sofa cushions landed on it. The dark kitten stood at the shore, measured the distance, and launched herself onto the first square island.
The second cushion drifted when she landed. Ink balanced with her tail straight behind her, then jumped to a footstool and climbed the armchair mountain. A knitted blanket at the summit made an excellent explorer’s flag.
She reached the sofa without one paw touching the sea. Then a treat rolled beneath the coffee table, and the famous explorer discovered that some treasures are worth getting your feet wet for.
