Yuzu’s Yarn Weather

Yuzu predicts the day’s weather by studying a basket of rolling yarn.

Yuzu believed the yarn basket could forecast weather. On calm mornings the balls stayed tucked together. Before windy afternoons, a loose strand seemed to appear across the floor, clearly announcing excitement ahead.

One gray day, the yellow yarn rolled all the way to the window. Yuzu followed, expecting a storm, and found the first snowflakes turning in the air. He watched until the garden looked as soft as the basket.

The forecast was recorded as accurate. The yarn was rewound, the window seat was claimed, and Yuzu spent the afternoon tracking white weather that no kitten could possibly untangle.
