Tofu and the Teacup Garden

Tofu helps a tiny windowsill garden recover after an accidental tumble.

The teacup garden held moss, two pebbles, and a fern no taller than Tofu’s ear. He admired it daily from a respectful distance—until a sneeze sent cup, soil, and pebbles across the sill.

Tofu sat among the evidence while the garden was rebuilt. He tapped one pebble toward the cup and watched the fern return to its place. Then he tucked his paws beneath himself so they could cause no further improvements.

The fern grew a new leaf a week later. Tofu inspected it nose-first and chose the other end of the windowsill for his nap, proud to serve as both the garden’s weather and its careful neighbor.
