Pepper’s Paper Parade

A draft lifted one paper star from the table and sent it skimming across the floor. Pepper chased it through the hallway, where it joined a paper moon, three circles, and a long green ribbon.

Soon the pieces formed a parade. The ribbon curled behind Pepper like a banner while the stars spun beneath the radiator. Even the paper moon rolled bravely over the threshold.

The parade ended beneath the dining table, and every marcher was returned to the craft box. Pepper kept the green ribbon. A parade leader, after all, needs something impressive to wear at the next procession.
